New!

Nancy N & Timi have just received some brand new product that will be traveling to the Holiday Inn South County Center this weekend - for retreaters only!  So they asked me to work on some samples just for you.

The jewelry is in the works, but I'll give you a look-see at the rest . . .

Making Memories mini-vintage kits:

MM Layout

With just one little Making Memories kit,

so far I've created

a layout

+

 a greeting card

+

enough leftover to make another something.

Look for it Saturday at the Holiday Inn (for retreaters only)

Then started working on a couple of Clear Scraps seasonal goodies and included Tim Holtz Grungeboard, Stickles and more!

Sorry, these are available only for the

For Keeps Sake Scrapbook "Back To The Basics" Retreat Attendees.

After the retreat this coming weekend, you can find the supplies @

For Keeps Sake Scrapbook.

Now back to the jewelry-making . . . and my own little assembly line.

Then clean-up will be required!

PS:  Mary Engelbreit DOES want me to come to her studio with my Copic Markers.  I really didn't pursue this in the Spring as I thought she was just being nice when we met at the For Keeps Sake Scrap St. Louis Event.  But her side-kick Jan E called me yesterday and we're probably getting together at Mary's studio sometime next week.  WOW!

"Cooking"

More altered puzzle pieces that are "cooking".  In other words, the basics are completed.  Now just need to let them sit where I can pass by them about a hundred times a day to see if I think they need anything else added to them.

Honestly (and I'm not being egotistical here), but it's good to see them on my blog.  The camera catches so much more than just my eye - and allows me to see the flaws and the empty spaces waiting to fill.  Try it with your own work and you'll see what I mean.  It lets you stand back and objectively criticize so that you can make things better.  It's an "ah ha" and "never saw that there before" moment!

Here's a handful of pics including a few of Wendy's 40 class takers,

Ted enjoying a gift from Wendy's husband Rick,

Michelle & Ted demoing in their own styles and so much more!

Enjoy!

TRADE YA!

Some friends/students at For Keeps Sake decided they wanted to get involved in another puzzle trade.  Sherry found these puzzles while vacationing in Michigan and brought them back for the trade.  Large pieces with "flaps":

Puzzle A

Puzzle B

I've been procrastinating until yesterday when I realized that

CYI (Create Your Imagination) is in two short weeks.

CYI is a free meet-up the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

It's FREE.

We trade, share ideas and techniques and have fun!

(Join us anytime @ 6:30 pm)

Each person in the trade was able to name the theme of their puzzle pieces.

And I think that's why I was procrastinating.

There are 10 people involved in the trade.  Which meant 10 different themes!

But the other day I saw Sherry at For Keeps Sake

who said she was finished with hers

and that once you jump in it was easy to work each theme.

So I started them yesterday afternoon

before joining friends at SAGE for dinner (YUM!)

You MUST try this restaurant if you haven't already.

We ate on the rooftop dining room (outdoors) - a perfect night for it.

I digress.  (see what I mean about procrastinating!)

Here are 3 pieces I finished yesterday:

Puzzle 2

Puzzle 3

So while we're at dinner, Timi calls and is wild-crazy, head-over-heels, can't-wait-until-you-see all the stamps Ted & Michele (Mr. & Mrs. Stampers Anonymous) brought with them.  Loads and loads in a large white semi-truck!

The Chipmunk song is playing in my hear "Please Christmas don't be late".  It's the DisneyWorld of stamps!  All Timi could say was "wait until you see this" and "I can't wait until you can see these stamps!" and "You've got to get here early to see this!" and "the samples they brought are gorgeous".

The classroom has been divided in half.  Half of it is filled with displays of stamps (hundreds - maybe thousands) and the other half is classroom for my Tim Holtz a.m. tag class and Wendy Vecchi's afternoon class.

All I'm sayin' is - if you see a whirlwind that resembles a tornado in the Stampers' Anonymous area, it's just me, picking up all the stamps I "need"!

Are you in or around the St. Louis MO area?

Then get in and get your stamps

Melissa Frances - Tim Holtz - My Mind's Eye & More!

You may have read one of my previous posts that said I was a Design Team member for a new site, Frosted Designs.  This site is technique driven (woo hoo!) with weekly challenges where you can win prizes.

Here's the first sample challenge that I created for

Frosted Designs:

This week's technique: Use ink or chalk on a project.

Bingo 2

Bingo 3

This door hanger measures approximately 7" tall x 6.5" wide.  I used a Melissa Frances Bingo card inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Brushed Corduroy, Black Soot and Orange Marmalade).  The Melissa Frances Bingo cards are part of a ring-bound book, but can easily be separated into individual cards.

Used Tim Holtz Seasonal Grungeboard for the haunted house, lantern, pumpkin and black cat.  Inked cat with Black Soot and then stamped faux writing and heat embossed with Ranger's black embossing powder.  Inked house with Orange Marmalade and Black Soot Distress Ink. Stamped a wrought iron fence at the bottom of the house and heat embossed using Ranger's black embossing powder.

Painted the lamp with Juniper Adirondack Dabber and then inked over that with Brushed Corduroy, Weathered Wood and Black Soot Distress Ink to (hopefully) create a patina brass look.  Positioned the lamp to frame the "31" on the Bingo card.  Painted in the numbers "31" with Copic Markers and added Rock Candy Stickles on top for shimmer.

Glittered the windows, pumpkin and bat with Stickles.  Added "jeweled" eyes and hung the entire Bingo card with Tim Holtz clips and ribbon.

PP Sonja

This is my friend Sonja who has the very best Halloween costumes I've ever seen.  Honestly, we're best friends and one year her costume was so good I didn't even recognize her!  Each year she dresses up (makes her own costumes) and loves every minute of it - and so do we!

I love the look of one large photo per layout, but in reality we all have more than 1 photo we need/want to scrap.  So I usually try to tuck photos in somewhere else.  In this layout I used a 7 Gypsies paper bag inked with Brushed Corduroy.  Created 3 mats and tabs out of My Mind's Eye paper and inserted those into the 7 Gypsies bag to create space for more photos and journaling.

Here's what I used:

  • My Mind's Eye papers inked with Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Black Soot, Brushed Corduroy & Scattered Straw.
  • My Mind's Eye overlay
  • Prima jeweled swirlys
  • 7 Gypsies paper bag inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Brushed Corduroy)
  • Miscellaneous black fringe
  • Miscellaneous bottle filled with Ranger's Butterscotch and Rust Alcohol Inks
  •

    Pp POTIONS

Some people are caught up with scrapbooking photos . . .

Obviously, from the pics I'm posting here, I'm not one of them.  Here's my two great-nieces again.  They may be the two cutest kids in the world!   ; )

Decided instead of doing a traditional layout that I would decorate a canvas.  The picture of the two girls together is on a smaller canvas.

    Pink Paisley paper.

    Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

    Distress Stickles.

    Misc ribbons, flowers and beads.

    Quickies !

I cannot wait until Ted & Michele (Mr. & Mrs. Stampers' Anonymous) roll their semi into the For Keeps Sake parking lot, set up their displays in our classroom and let me at 'em!  Their stamps are amazing.  Perfectly cut.  Wood mounted and/or cling mounted.  FABulous designs (hey, Tim and Wendy's stamps are made by them!)  What's not to love.

So decided this morning to pull a few of my Stampers' Anonymous stamps and play.  Really simple.  The stamps speak for themselves so not many alterations needed!

Step 1:  Get into my stash of leftover papers and choose something.  All that's needed for playing is little bits of paper so no need to get into 12"x12" sheets:

    Stampers AA

    Stampers A

Then choose some Stampers' Anonymous stamps.  Do you remember the Art Gone Wild brand?  That belongs to Ted & Michele also!

    Stampers 1

Ink some paper (with Distress Inks of course):

    Stampers 1A

    Maybe add a little grungeboard:

    Stampers 1B

A card in a minute!  Here's more of my playings from this morning:
