Magic . . .

Magic Show Poster

The dates of this magic show should have read

Friday October 29 & Saturday October 30

as

Wendy Vecchi

2010 10 31_4110_edited-1

created magic in the For Keeps Sake classroom

on those dates.

The projects were above adorable

with every little detail taken into consideration.

In addition, we all enjoyed

seeing Ms Wendy's traveling trunk show

with more of her amazing designs.

and a good time was had by all.

Organization . . .

Take a look at Wendy McKee's new craft room:

http://wendymckee.blogspot.com/2010/10/it-got-tedious.html

She is so very organized.  What impressed me is that she organizes her embellishments by color.  With the exception of ribbon and paper, my embellishments are organized by type.

But I'm thinkin' that maybe organization by color may be the thing to do.  When paper crafting, I usually work in color groupings, i.e., black, cream, deep red for example, and I have to go through each of these drawers (there's many more than pictured above) to find embellishments I want to add to my project.

If I did this like Wendy does:

(photo taken from Wendy's blog)

then all I would have to do is open up the "red" box and voila - embellishments at the ready.

Whatcha think?  How do you organize your embellishments?

Spotting talent . . .

Did you ever notice how people that are REALLY-OVER-THE-TOP talented are very humble about their art.  I'm not talking about those names we all know and love but rather thinking about those who (IMHO) don't get the recognition they deserve.

There's one gal I'm thinking about today.  Her name is Candy Colwell and she is uber-talented.  She's with Tim this week taking classes.  It's a case of 6 degrees of separation (again).

Renea C (1) has taken some of my classes.  Renea and I (2) knew each other but couldn't figure out from where, until Renea remembered waaaayyyyy back when (I was in my 20's) we had taken tole painting classes together from another customer (3) of For Keeps Sake.

Renea also has taken classes from Candy (4) and brought her work to For Keeps Sake to show us how fabulous Candy's creations ara.

I e-mailed Tim (5) as Candy was taking his classes this week at Kate's (6) store (Absolutely Everything) and wanted to make sure he saw her work.

Visit Candy's blog and you'll see what I mean!

 Creativity Is Contagious

Christmas 1
I decided to start Christmas gifts.

Once Halloween gets here,

the Holiday season begins and it's off and running.

This will be given to a friend

so she can place her own Christmas photos inside.

The book is a Maya Road chipboard 6x6

wallpapered with Graphic 45 Christmas collection.

To the cover I added

a large Tim Holtz Fragment protecting another Graphic 45 image,

A Tim Holtz Curio Knob

Idea-ology charms & chain

Wendy Vecchi (Studio 490) stamp

Maya Road + Tim Holtz Trinket Pin

and on the inside

7 Gypsies envelopes cut with a Tim Holtz On-The-Edge die.
