when I teach my Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium project.  This is one of the Graphic 45 Altered Art Boxes and book I designed for Graphic 45.  It was shown at CHA-S and has been traveling around the world at various shows with Graphic 45. I will also be teaching this project at Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion Workshops this November.

Now, it's your turn to make one for your family.  

We will first decorate the box inside and out

using beautiful papers from Graphic 45's Christmas Emporium collection.

We'll add hardware including Graphic 45 metal flowers, book plates and door plates.

Then we'll open the box to reveal an accordion book

that we will deconstruct and put back together using a simple

Kettle Stitch.

Each page of the book will be carefully decorated

using more Christmas Emporium papers

&

Graphic 45 Envelope Staples

with plenty of space for this year's holiday photos and journaling.

Christmas Book Kit . . .

A new book in the house.  This one features Webster's Pages Christmas papers with plenty of ephemera, stamped images, photo mats and envelopes to add to your 6" x 12" pages.

Written directions with photos will take you step-by-step through a handsewn bookbinding technique that uses a very easy Kettle Stitch.  To dress the book up a bit, add ribbon (included in your kit) to the binding.

Calling all stripes . . .

for this week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp & Show challenge blog. 

I love stripes!  When looking to combine pattern pieces, I almost always turn to stripes to mix with any other pattern be it flowers or paisley or just about anything.  

Choosing to work with 7 Gypsies 6x6 Lille paper for the background, I added Graphic 45 On The Boardwalk black and cream stripe.  Then put a tag through a Big Shot with Tim's Notebook Texture Fades for more stripe action. Adding ephemera from On The Boardwalk finished off the card with more wavy stripes in the cancelled stamp images.

Things with wings . . .

is the theme this week at Simon Says Stamp & Show challenge blog.

Looking around my studio for a theme, I found an 8x8 pad of My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two and a Kaiser mannequin. So that's how I begin my project.

With My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two as a base, the paper with the sewing machine would be a great fit with the Kaiser mannequin.  The sewing maching paper was mounted on a piece of Maya Road Coaster Book.  The Maya Road wings were put through a Big Shot using a polka dot embossing folder. The mannequin needed a little something so I used Studio 490 Just Sew Artsy to add some texture to the mannequin. The card was finished off with a face from An Eye For Art.

Those of us on the Design Team never plan what we're using in advance. This week was a bit of a surprise when so many of us used a mannequin in our projects.  Stop by and see what everyone came up with for this week's theme.

Create Your Imagination . . .

meet-up at For Keeps Sake is this coming Tuesday, October 11 at 6 pm.

Dena and Muffy are hosting the altered book page this month.  If you're playing along, Dena says,

"please bring:

• two sheets of solid color cardstock (8 1/2x11)
• one sheets of co-ordinating solid color cardstock (12x12)
• four sheets of patterned 12x12 paper (two co-ordinating patterns) three of one pattern & one of the other or whatever you want to use
• ribbon about 18" strip about 1/2" wide
• scorer & corner rounder, red line tape, a cutter,  
• basic supplies & your book
• 3 letter size envelopes.

If you'd like, you may create a practice one Tuesday without using the papers & then recreate the one with your chosen papers at home.  It would save time."

Paper Crafts Holiday Cards & More . . .

Just received my advance copy of Paper Crafts presents Holiday Cards & More Volume 6.  So very excited as my Graphic 45 Shadow Box made it in the Decor section page 149.
