Switching gears in 2017 . . .

Switching gears

2017 marks a new year of opportunities. I am leaving For Keeps Sake Events and switching gears a bit. It's been a crazy and fun ride but it's time to move on and start something new.

New Horizons

I'm setting sail for more workshops and creative opportunities and I hope you'll join me.

Please follow me on my blog and Facebook page to see what happens next. I appreciate each of you and hope to see you in one of my workshops or at one of my events in the near future. Fun times and memories await us all!

Prima ArtVenture 2017 . . .

This was my 2nd year to attend Prima ArtVenture and it did not disappoint. Each workshop was filled with new products and amazing techniques.

Prima AV 2017-1

Here's the class taught by Anna Dabrowska (Finnabair). Finn is a wonderful instructor who allows you to create as you wish while still giving you concise direction on how to use her mixed media product.

Prima AV 2017-2

The detail in the cover of this book is full of technique and new mixed media product from her 2017 product line

Prima @ Creativation . . .

Being a Prima Endorsed Educator, you can guess my favorite booth at CHA. Prima Marketing always has innovative designs surrounded by gorgeous samples:

The sample below shows one of Frank Garcia's new frames.

These Wild & Free papers are also designed by Frank Garcia

Prima C

Love the feathers. And more gold!

Sharon Laakonen showed us a great way to use

the Prima Planner Glue Pens with Rub-On Foil Sheets

for a beautiful effect.

Idea-ology Favorites . . .

Being one who loves vintage, there were quite a few items at the Idea-ology booth that were some of my CHA show favorites:

I1

Ugh my photos are so blurry!

I3

To see more photos with someone who knows how to take non-blurry photos,

I found this blog:

or this video by Tim Holtz:

Eileen Hull & Rebekah Meier @ CHA . . .

I missed Eileen but not Scotty! Once again Eileen Hull has innovative designs. My favorite was the Faux Midori die. It's a must-have on my list:

A new-to-me designer was at the Therm-O-Web booth - Rebekah Meier Designs. Loved her mixed media work:

Tammy Tutterow Designs for Spellbinders at CHA . . .

TTD 1

I've been a follower of Tammy Tutterow's work for years. Her style is decidedly her own and it is always beautiful. When I first discovered her work at a CHA years ago, I was thrilled to learn she was just across the river. Tammy designs her own display at CHA and it shows: a mix of new designs with a bit of an antique look.

These decorated spools were dispersed throughout her display. What a darling idea! And if you're a Tammy follower, you'll recognize the felt flowers. Love the centers of those!

TTD 2

I would love to put this happy banner with the decorated spools on top of a birthday cake!

TTD 3

This was my favorite. If you follow various blogs, you know that some of the gals choose a word of the year . . . an inspiration word. Well, Tammy used a large spool and fabric and added several of the her words from over the years. She used her Spellbinders dies and an antique baby quilt and strung the words together to create this rolled keepsake.

TTD 4

Wish I had a photo of her mini-books with antique-look fabric covers. They are beautiful. Maybe she'll show them on her blog!

Here's another design from Spellbinders that I thought was really cute (not a Tammy design):

More from CHA tomorrow!

Showtime . . . in gold . . .

The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) was called Creativation this year and held in Phoenix AZ.

Eye candy everywhere! Today, I'll show you a few things from the Spellbinders booth. They always have beautiful samples and this year, it seemed that almost everything had a touch of gold.

Gorgeous edge dies called Graceful Damask:

So pretty and this is just a few things from their booth. Tomorrow . . . Tammy Tutterow for Spellbinders.

New year, new mini-book . . .
