GaGa over Graphic 45

I can't think of one person who doesn't love Graphic 45 papers.  They are beautifully designed papers.  Although I hate to admit it, I use my G45 papers sparingly as I'm afraid to run out - even though I've hoarded a ton of it. 

Here's another card I did using some of their gorgeous paper:

 

And I'm excited to tell you they accepted

another one of my projects to their gallery.  Such an honor!

Class tomorrow.

Christmas this Wednesday!  If you signed up for my Christmas album class tomorrow (Wednesday, March 24), the class will last all day (10:30 am - 4:30 pm) so BYO lunch.  You're welcome to use the fridge and/or the microwave if you'd like.

In addition to basics here's what you'll need:

• Shabby Shutters Distress Ink

• Antique Linen Distress Ink

• Pop-ups (the spongy dots)

• Intricate cutting scissors such as Cutterbees

• Copic Markers: 2 shades of green and a yellow for coloring pears

• Bone folder

• Pencil

You may also want to bring a deckle edge scissors or cutting blade that fits your cutter.  I have several pages cut with a deckle.  If you're partial to another edge, please bring whatever decorative scissors or cutter suits your fancy. Or, if you prefer, you may tear the edges of those pages.

You'll also be adding some tags to your book.  I edged my tags with a gold Krylon pen.  BYO if you have one (or you may complete this step at home).

Remember the Paul Simon song . . .

"Still Crazy After All These Years"?  Well, my mantra seems to be "still organizing after all these years".  I don't know about you but the longer I do this paper arts thing the more I collect, finding it hard to throw scraps of paper, ribbon or ephemera away.

Earlier, I posted this picture of my ribbon drawer:

This tangled mess needed to be straightened.  So I took it apart, piece by piece and

• wrapped all the loose pieces around embroidery thread cards
• sorted by colors
• stored in Iris boxes

Here's my new ribbon storage:

Red, orange and yellow in the top container

followed by

green, blue and purple

followed by

brown, black and white.

 

Tried to get all these little ribbon packets lined up really pretty and in straight lines in these bins.  But they kept falling over and getting out of line.  So I quit and figured at least they're not tangled any more and grouped into color categories. I'm tellin' ya, it's tough fighting with ribbon - especially when it wins!

April ATC's:

Worked on this today.

Wendy Vecchi (my idea/stamping hero) has the front of her Studio 490 stamps decorated.  You can purchase these acrylic covers (yes, Wendy designed them).  They are sold 2 to a pack with the extra large rings included.  Wendy designed her stamps so that they fit into these acrylic "binders".

When we took Wendy's class this past weekend, we saw *in person* how she decorated the front cover of her binder.  I loved it immediately.  You can see Wendy's on her blog @ http://studio490art.blogspot.com/2008/07/studio-490-stamp-storage.html If you click on this link, you will see the first one she did.  Her 2nd cover is equally fabulous (maybe even more so!)

So I had to do my own.  Here's what I ended up with today:

at least I'm on my way!  Took Angie's idea (see post from yesterday) and organized my brads:

Bits and pieces from leftover projects.

 So I think that just has to be:

 

The "good" ribbon (1 yard or more)

is hanging from a hook on my slat wall.

Consider this my controlled substance.
