This house is definitely a home . . .

Today, Timi, Nancy, Colleen and I were invited to Mary's house for lunch.  It was our first time at Mary's (at least it was for Timi, Nancy and me).  We had heard so much about this log cabin that we couldn't resist making arrangements to see this beauty.  Little did we know what we were to experience. 

Not just a house . . . but a real home. 

Warm.

Cozy.

Gorgeously decorated.

Straight off the pages of a decorator's magazine.

Inside pages . . .

So right after I showed you the cover of my Thanksgiving mini-album, I started the inside pages.  This is page 1 - the opening page.  Starting to do my journaling in pencil.  When my journaling is done in pen (whether I use black or brown pen) it seems it shows up too much - like it's the highlight of the page when I really don't want it to be.  I know some people like their handwriting but for those of us who don't have a *scrapper's handwriting* this is a good way to still do hand journling (which I think is soooooo important) without it showing up too much or having to find some way to hide it in a pocket or behind a photo.

Back to *work* . . .

if that's what you want to call what I do. 

Decided to go back and work on my Thanksgiving mini-album.  Already had a 2 page layout done of a few of my nieces, yet many more photos to add.

So yesterday, when Sonja & Stacey came over, started on the cover.  This is what I ended up with:

Papered the background with ???

Next step:

Get out the wine napkins Missy gave me a couple of years ago.

Tear appropriately and wallpaper those over the background

using

Claudine Hellmuth's Matte Medium.

After sanding the back of the wooden acorn ornament 

attach to the front of the book with

Claudine Hellmuth's Matte Medium

(this stuff is fabulous!)

If you take all the extra layers off the back of the napkin

and then adhere the top layer only

you can see through the napkin to the paper underneath.

The napkin acts as a sort of transparency.

Add a
