I'm not one to make New Year resolutions
. . . promising myself to lose weight hasn't worked for years!
However, I do look back at 2010 and think of ways to improve
. . . myself
. . . my classes
. . . everything that touches my life that I am able to control. I'm not a control freak (OK, maybe just a little).
One thing that is very frustrating to anyone who teaches is not getting the supplies in quick enough.
In the past, I've designed a project, ordered supplies and waited for them to arrive.
Sometimes patiently.
Most times impatiently to find that they are not being made anymore
can't get them in on time for the class
backordered
they'll get shipped on Tuesday (but my class is Monday)!
excuses, excuses, excuses.
It's disappointing to my students and it's disappointing to me
when product doesn't arrive
and I have to cancel a class. grrrrr
So here's what I have planned for 2011:
I am purchasing all the product needed for a class myself (before I even design the class).
That way, I'm insured that the supplies are in and available for the class.
This also means that the classes will be limited in size (bet you like this as well!)
so please, if you see a class you would like to take
sign up early to make sure there are spots available.
My classes this year will also include either
a sketch of a layout
or
written directions with photos.
So if you are unable to attend a class, you may still sign up for a kit.
Here's what's planned to date:
