I taught this class last Sunday at For Keeps Sake.  Here's what I ended up doing with my finished star.

I have had this wreath for years.  It hangs on our front door each winter.  This year, I needed a new Christmas wreath, so decided to hang the Graphic 45 star in the middle.  I did spray the star with Super Seal to protect it from the St. Louis winters so it should be good to go all season.

After Christmas, I'll remove the star (which is just hanging from one of the branches and snuggled in) and still use the wreath for the rest of the winter.

With holiday decorating happening this week, I chose to create an ornamental star that will be added to our Christmas tree.  

I began with a clear acrylic star that was embossed using the Allegro embossing folder on a Vagabond. It was then painted with Ranger's Gold Dabber. The paint was gently wiped off so that it stayed only within the deep grooves of the embossed music. Using Graphic 45's 8x8 Christmas Emporium paper, fussy cuts were made and adhered to the front of the embossed star along with Hero Arts Olive Green Gemstones.

Looking forward to creating stars!

A simple project with An ABC Primer . . .

Our neighborhood/subdivision has a pretty big garage sale each year.  While perusing the neighbors goods (!), we ran across this school desk.  I've always wanted one of these and with a price tag of $15, I couldn't pass it up.  Of course, the perfect paper for this is Graphic 45's An ABC Primer.

Not wanting to cover all the wood, I decided to cut and paste some 

ABC Primer

to showcase those designs.

I got lazy and didn't even sand the desk before adhering all the papers with

Claudine Hellmuth Matte Medium.

I also used Matte Medium on top of the papers to seal them.

(Love that stuff!)

Little drawing books were added to the mix

along with a cigar box that will hold markers and crayons.

You should see what my Team Mate Tara did with a found rocking horse!

This week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp & Show is all about tickets.  

I turned to Tim Holtz Journaling Tickets to create a mini-banner. After inking the edges with Ranger Archival Sepia ink, I used the same ink and stamped background images from Tim's Mini-Holiday set. The stamp set was also used on the tops of miscellaneous chipboard letters. A Marvy Snow Pen was used on the trees and Santa's hat before bits of ephemera were added to each.

Star Light, Star Bright . . .

Graphic 45 is showcasing my Christmas star today along with a beautiful calendar Tara made out of the Graphic 45 altered box.

Here's the star with a base from an old rusty tin star I found for only $1.50.  This star measures almost 15" wide x 15" tall.

This turned into a class I will be teaching at For Keeps Sake for a nominal fee.  The tin base will be substituted for something sturdy and the design remains the same.
