but we're trading rat traps. UGH. As the cartoon said *I hate meeses*.
These are, however, so cute I can't resist. So that's our trade for the next CYI meet-up.
I posted this pic on April 27:
Even I love these - sans mice of course! They are rat traps (not mouse traps) so you get some working room.
- It's a one-on-one trade which means you only have to make one.
- If you would like to play along but don't want to trade, please join us anyway. You are welcome to make one and bring it for show-and-tell without trading.
- Everyone is welcome to jump in. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month - 6 pm. It's FREE, no dues, no fees.
May CYI (Create Your Imagination) meet-up was May 8. We traded altered book innards (!). Sounds funny doesn't it. In some of my bookbinding classes, we gut books and use the hardbound covers for altering and stitching in signatures. What's left are the inside pages, all intact. We decorated and traded those in our May meeting.
They turned out beautifully! Did I have my camera? NO! But Ann did and hopefully I can get some pics from her and show you here.
I got Sue V's book:
Sue used several techniques on this beauty. Super cool idea: She printed out a paper for us describing the techniques she used. Love this idea. Maybe we should adopt this - hint, hint.
The book was placed on a vintage doily. Here are some close-ups:
Love this ribbon idea:
Just to recap:
- June 12 - 6 pm: Next CYI meet-up @ For Keeps Sake, St. Louis MO
- Everyone is invited. It's FREE!
- Trade an altered rat trap. If you're intimidated by trades, just make your own and bring for show-and-tell.
- If you used a technique on your trap, please bring a printed copy of the how-to.
All this and more
