Thank you . . .

to all 41 of you who are members of the For Keeps Sake A Cut Above die-cut Club. It was a quick 20 minutes yesterday and our cards were created with the first club die. After every class, Nancy N, Timi and I evaluate what I taught in class, how the class went, etc.

We decided to change it up a bit for next month's Club get together. Instead of me die-cutting everything for you, please BYO die-cutting machine i.e., Big Shot, Cuttlebug, Vagabond etc. You will cut your own papers and then . . .

we will roll out some of the newest dies from Lifestyle Crafts for you to try.

YEP, brand new packages and you can *test drive* and create what you like best.

In addition, I'll have 4 to 6 samples for you if you'd like to copy my designs using the same dies.

Yesterday was quite an exciting day. Not only did we have a house full of peeps @ For Keeps Sake but two new and gorgeous scrapbooking/cardmaking goodies came our way.

Brand new glitter and embossing powders from Sparkle 'n' Sprinkle. OMG wait until you see these colors. Fabulous shades including glitter embossing powders. I love this company. It's an independently owned company in Florida. *He* stays in the factory, concocting new shades and making his own glitter and embossing powders. *She* is on the road promoting their product.

One of the embossing powders we purchased is Glow In The Dark. Talk about perfect for Halloween!

And also this . . .

Authentique's new Christmas line, Festive.  We also received samples from Authentique of their (almost here) Halloween and school lines.

We don't surf much in Missouri . . . !

and yet, I love the colors in the *Down The Boardwalk* collection from We R Memory Keepers.  So yesterday, while I was at For Keeps Sake, I decided to do a couple of quick layout samples. These surfboards . . .

turned into this . . .

Loving the new Jenni Bowlin Magpie collection.  With 4th of July nearing, I decided on something a bit patriotic. Thinking of all those who made their way to the U.S. in hopes of a better life, pursuing dreams, this very simple layout came about. I'll use it for photos of my grandparents when they first came from Spain so many years ago.

All these products are available @ For Keeps Sake Scrapbook.

Working hard for the money . . .

So proud of *my girls* yesterday. They worked diligently in getting their books together and making sure each page telescoped. The class was full with even a couple of gals from Tulsa and Texas (Dallas area). So happy to have them take my workshop!

Timi (one of For Keeps Sake's owners) joined in.

Thank you so very much for taking this workshop.

After every one left, Nancy, Timi and I sat down and planned some future classes that will be very exciting. Can't say more than that now, but look to For Keeps Sake to bring you amazing ideas for all your paper crafting!

Saturday's bookbinding class . . .

Saturday's bookbinding class will begin at 10:30 am.

I'm excited to share this cool concept with you.

In addition to basic supplies you will need:

  • Scor-Tape.  I used the 1/4" size for the pages and the larger size (1/2" or 1") for the binding. Using Scor-Tape for the individual pages will save you time. A good wet glue such as Beacon 3-in-1 can be used for the binding. (We sell both at For Keeps Sake.)
  • Ruler & pencil
  • Craft knife
  • Crop-a-dile or other small hole punch that will go through 2 pieces of cardstock at one time.
  • Score board. Martha Stewart is my favorite and works the best for this project. (We do sell them at For Keeps Sake if you need one tomorrow.)
  • Whatever two pieces of decorative paper you want to use for the inside covers.
  • Your lunch! Not sure we will get the entire book put together before lunch so please plan on bringing your lunch or at least a snack to tide you over.  We have a refrigerator and microwave you are welcomed to use. If you're new to the For Keeps Sake area, there's a delicious Chinese restaurant next door, St. Louis Bread Co (Panera) just up the street as well as a McDonald's, Subway and Jack-In-The-Box.

I plan this class to last from 10:30 am until 4:30 pm. We will probably finish putting the book together before 4:30 pm. If you'd like to bring all your papers with you and decorate the pages please do so. Thanks for signing up for this bookbinding workshop.

PS: Hope all of you know this is one of my *use your stash* workshops. I will supply the basic chipboard and cardstock (and of course directions) to put the book and pages together. You BYO paper to decorate the cardstock pages.

See you tomorrow

Yesterday . . .

We had a good Father's Day.

Beau and Lindsey were over for dinner . . . after Lindsey spent a rather long afternoon at Busch Stadium with her Dad. Can hardly believe that game lasted as long as it did. Bill and I were watching the game (well, me, only the last part) and I commented about how the Kansas City players didn't even look excited about winning. Just so tired . . . and in yesterday's heat.

I'll stop now. Happy to have remembered to take photos!

A Kut Above Die Klub . . .

Here's the card we will be making in the June 28 Kut Above Klub. This is the get together that focuses on one quick project where you keep the die.

This month, combine the Rose Kut Above Klub Die with adorable Crate Paper, Botanical die and Floret embossing folder. (Each of your cards may vary slightly as you get to choose the paper and border in this 1 hour Klub class.)

Please bring to class:

  • your choice of paper adhesive + a glue pen
  • light colored ink + applicator. I used Adirondack Lights Shell Pink
  • scissors
  • craft mat

Here's what we'll be making:

A Cut Above
