Last night, we gained a new friend. Welcome Vickie! So happy to have you on board with us.
Our CYI meet-up last night at For Keeps Sake was amazing. All those mouse traps captured some beautiful art.
Here's what we started with:
Bonnie shared a book she made using Unibind. It is going to be so appreciated! (No photo because it's a future gift.)
Karen brought in domino jewelry she's been working with. Gorgeous pieces! We all remembered the Christmas dominos Karen made last year. That Santa face - WOW! Take a look at her newest:
Mary June is back with us - YEAH! - and brought this to show us:
Wait for it . . .
an altoid tin that she altered - and it is gorgeous and full of a detailed scene!
Then the mouse/rat trap trades began and OH MY, what ingenuity! Here's what we traded:
From Sue Kelemen:
Most of you know Sue and have taken her classes @ For Keeps Sake. So happy to have her join our trade this month. Here's her shabby chic interpretation of an altered mouse trap:
Love the detail in this. That tiny clothes pin and the frame . . . !
Sue used papers from a collection by Fab Scraps available @ For Keeps Sake Scrapbook.
From Mary June:
Love the way she used the witch's broom as the pendulum. The papers and images are from Graphic 45's newest Happy Haunting, available @ For Keeps Sake Scrapbook.
PS: If this one goes missing, you can probably find it at Timi's house!
From Ann W (also with Graphic 45):
All those little cuts popped up - love it!
Ann even finished the back beautifully:
From Sue V: LOVE this window!
From Carolyn K a la Dylusions style: Carolyn painted hers with chalkboard paint. Very clever idea!
From Muffy: I was the lucky recipient of this one. Love the Hotel California theme and now have been singing that song in my head for 2 days. The Eagles are one of my all-time-favorite bands. In fact, I painted the cover of one of their albums on a canvas in oil for a friend, who framed it. It's been hanging in their house for over 30 years! How appropriate: "You can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave!" Meeces beware!
Oh those hanging charms!
From Karen:
From Sue B with Graphic 45 papers:
From Bonnie:
From Dena:
From me:
We had a most special guest last night. Zoie came with her Nonna, Dena. Zoie took part in our little swap with me, creating her own altered mouse trap. I was the lucky recipient of this beauty:
I love all the sparkles and the *magic* she used on this!
and then I gave her this one:
What a great exchange.
Our next meet-up is Tuesday, July 10 when we will trade altered altoid tins (a la Mary June - see photo above). One-on-one trade. Choose your own theme. Hope you can join us @
