Looking a bit ahead to 2013, what type of classes/workshops would you like to see taught @ For Keeps Sake.
I was thinking about . . .
-
more bookbinding classes (my paper obsession that I just can't quit)
- continue with Two Tag Tuesday technique classes but this go 'round concentrate on various inks and how to use them and what they can (and can't) do
- card classes that combine Just Rite stamps and Spellbinders dies and add embellishments making them a bit fancier than what we created this year.
- and yes . . . I'm even thinking about a layout class that combines design techniques that you can use in other areas of paper crafting
So what do you want to see?
Perhaps more classes using stamps and Copic markers?
More of something I don't have listed here?
Class takers unite and let me know your opinions.
If you could sit and craft the day away, what would be your favorite thing to create?
There may be a prize (or two) if you comment!
So . . .
tell me what you want, what you really really want.
I'm always looking for classes/kits on layouts. Not themed per say, just pretty .. if that makes any sense at all. Classes that should run 25 ish for 1 2-page layout. I'm personally getting burned out on books. The classes are just too long for me. But I'm looking forward to what all the instructors have in store for the coming months. :)

Nancy, I personally love taking your classes and I hope to be able to attend some of the bookbinding classes next year. I do enjoy the Two Tag Tuesday classes and the techniques we've learned so far. The Just Rite and Spellbinders cards are always so beautiful and I love those as well. Sorry I couldn't make it to last night's class I had another commitment. The Stamp Club has also been fun and we've gotten some really nice stamps.
I will say that I have been disappointed in our Die Club, not in your teaching but in the die selection themselves.
You are so creative and I know whatever you come up with for next year's classes they will be wonderful. Thanks for all your hard work in preparing for these classes.
As to what I would do if I could do nothing but craft for a day, that's a hard thing to say. I have so many things that I'd like to work on. I think I would like to sit down and make up a book about me filled with stories and pictures of me growing up and throughout my life, the houses I've lived in, etc. so that my children and my grandchildren could have something to remember me by and to preserve my past for them.
As I grow older I think about how often I'd like to ask someone in my family about a story or event that happened when I was a child that at the time I thought was silly or didn't mean anything and now there's no one left to ask.
Maybe if I ever sit down and make up that book my grandchildren will have something about me to share with their children some day.
Sorry to have rambled on so much.

I'm sort of burned out on the normal classes, they don't seem to hold my intrest like CYI, I don't know if it would be profitable to you or the store, but i would like to see, out of the box classes, altering something, making more things for the home decorations,I just love the pieces Timmy did for the store, the Artbox, the Circus box out of G45,and the Halloween box,Sues boo hanging, your Rat trap, Just looking for different things but still using paper supplies and emblishments from the store,Just saying looking for something to make my jucies flow, Nancy sorry to be long winded,But you Asked,LOL Have a great day an see you at the getaway, MJ

You know I love whatever you do, but I would really like to do some kind of altered art project (maybe steampunk) hint hint. A box, frame or bottle as the base. Using things like bulbs, springs, gears etc.
Also some of the pop up cards with the spinner attachment would be different.

I do like the mini book classes. I get more pictures put in these books then if I do the old 12 x 12 lay outs. Would like the Copic's combined with the minis. Thanks for asking!

Techniques. That's what I'd love to see offered. We all know how to make a card, a tag or a scrapbook page. But we all need to step out of the box and learn a new technique to add to those mediums.

I agreed with techniques, & or MARY junes idea. learning different ways to use new & older products we have.

Nancy,
I like your classes. I also like frilly things which could be anything with black or green or any color roses.
These would go with steampunk ideas. Altered items, love the rat trap we did today.
New techniques on cards or tags.

P.S. and with pink (G)

Hi Nancy, I thoroughly loved the rat trap class today. Hope to finish it up tomorrow. As for future classes, I would love more altered art and collage classes; new and inventive ways to use our stamping and papercrafting supplies.

wow, this is hard. I can sit all day and love whatever it is I'm creating. Love your classes and mini books/bookbinding, altered art, collage but haven't done much. I do love new or old techniques on projects. I have a cigar box just waiting for a few techniques. We did the altered books in CYI but I'd like to sit for a few hours or all day doing a book. I know some have made/completed one, but I haven't. Love the idea, love the look, would love to have one with lots of lace and ribbons for the old family photos. Thanks for your talent and your consideration. I realize I ran on and unlike the other ladies that did also, I'm not going to appologize. :)

I totally want to get into art journaling .. not sure if that is even something you're interested in, but that would rock ! Other wise I love whatever you teach :)

Love the book binding classes and would be interested in full layout classes. But the altered things don't appeal to me. I am just a blank book junkie....and love the excitement when the right pictures come along to make that book their home. Thanks for sharing as much as you do.

How 'bout "rules for effective layering"--yours are always right. Maybe using colored pencils and gamsol. I know copics are the new thing but I would like to know more about colored pencils. Missed the rat trap class, hope there is one in the future. Glues and inks---best ones for what. I do love everything from 'Nancyland'

An excerpt of my craft art to do list: using encaustics, using Utee layering and stamping on it, creating dimension through layers of materials whether Utee, beeswax, metals , collaging....working with canvas, paints and paper to create wall hangings for my home , Stamping techniques on fabric, using inks on household items including furniture. Just a few thoughts. Have a good one Nancy.

I love the bookbinding classes too! Even though I haven't been to one in forever but I am planning on returning to classes too. Along with some of the others I love the altering and home decor things. Also I would love to learn about encaustics kind of like Cat n Jack. If anyone knows how to do that i would so be there! I even thought about travelling to try to learn how some of how it is done :) Btw Nancy my daughter was so touched by the birthday wishes, thank you :-)

I love the book binding class projects you come up with, I am taking your class tomorrow! I think I would like to see other finished albums/gifts types of classes. Altered Art or Home decor type of clesses sound fun too! I always love your classes and attend whenever my schedule allows! Looking forward to tomorrow! Melinda

ANYTHING new, different, and better than what FKS has been doing Nancy. Your talent and classes are the only ones I am ever interested in. The others ...... BORING! Same old thing, month after month! PLUS, they need to invest in bringing in more reknowned designers - not ones who most of us have never heard of!!! I used to make the drive down there all the time because I liked what FKS had to offer over Michael's, Archiver's, etc. You notice I haven't been down there in a llllllllloooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggg time?!!! With the ability and so many e-classes, not much reason to make the drive any more!
Just my $0.0000000000000000000002 cents!
Love and miss you Nancy!

PLUS, FKS venturing into the 21st century and having a design team would bring a lot more variety to what they have to offer customers than the 'same old things'!!!

What is FKS?
