Yesterday, today and tomorrow . . .

Lots to tell you about today beginning with tomorrow's card class.

If you're joining me for class Thursday,

please bring:

any light color tan ink

Copic markers in shades of red, green and gold

(think Christmas)

Green Stickles

Yesterday, we enjoyed our CYI meet-up with a J-O-Y banner trade.

Everyone did a fabulous job on their banners.

All so unique.

Trish (on the left) made hers using muslin and color washes similar to an art journal. Loved the process she used.  Then slightly machine quilted each panel. Lucky Sue B received Trish's banner.

Sue B (left) made this gorgeous banner that I received.

Dena (left) traded hers to Trish. We all loved how Dena created her J-O-Y letters including using a wreath for the *O*. Lots of details.

Muffy (left) traded hers to one of her best friends Dena.

(was this trade fixed?)

Muffy used Ranger's Embossing Tinsel for the letters.

Love this as it doesn't flake!

Sue V traded her beautiful banner to Muffy.

We all loved the white and gold theme Sue used on her banner.

Gorgeous papers!

Karen (left), chose chipboard letters and a vertical theme for her banner.

Blingy clear snowflakes and large jingle bells topped off the theme of her beautiful banner.

Ann (left) went beyond the challenge and strung her banner in a wreath.

Even the wreath was blinged up with shimmery powders.

Lucky Karen gets to take this beauty home!

My banner went to Ann.

Even though our group was small last night, we all had such a great time.

I love meeting up with this group of gals. It's always a treat.

PS: You can see Mary Ann in the background. You can always attend and take a look without trading, as Mary Ann did last night. You are welcome to visit with us any time!

and one more treat . . .

This is Dena modeling a Christmas envelope Muffy made to store her trade.

It's all chipboard, collaged with Christmas papers and then stitched together on her sewing maching.

The strip of gold at the top of the envelope is Duck Tape.

Thanks for modeling Dena.

And thank you for the inspiration from every one last night!

NEXT CYI meet-up:

Tuesday, December 11

Join our annual Christmas party

(this year's) recipe trade!

Here's the scoop:

  • Sign up here in the comment section NO LATER THAN November 29 to bring either a savory or sweet hors d'oeuvres
  • If you'd like to join our holiday mini recipe book trade, create recipe pages (I'll let you know how many on November 30)
  • Each recipe page must be 6" wide x 4" tall and decorated on both sides please. These will be bound in a book format so please leave a 1/2" border on the front left side and back right side of each card for the binding.
  • Bring your decorated recipe cards to the CYI December 11 meet-up

At the meet-up, we will each get one another's recipe cards and create a mini-book with our holiday recipes. We will be using grungeboard, Zutter bind-it-alls and coils for the covers and binding. Please BYO if you have any.  There is no charge for this as we bring what we have and share at these meet-ups.  Hope you can join us.

Long post.

Thanks for sticking with me!

Hope to see you there.

Nancy, Sorry I'm not able to join you tonight for the Just Rite Class the cards look beautiful. Dale and I have been working frantically to try and get our new/old house ready for us to move into. We still have a lot of painting to do and we hope to get moved next weekend. I hope in December to get back to some classes. I miss you guys. Tell everyone hi for me tonight. I'll see you soon.

Your banner trade looked like so much fun! I wish I lived closer so I could participate with you talented ladies. Wish we had someplace like that here to share our love of vintage styles and craftsmanship! <3 Candy
