Beautiful Graphic 45 Place In Time papers

make up this everlasting flip calendar workshop.

If you're joining me tomorrow please bring

• Cutter & scissors (you will be cutting out very small things = precision scissors)
• Adhesive (both wet such as Beacon 3-in-1 and dry such as tape runner)
• Pop-ups for raising images
• Decorative edge scissors with a stamp edge
• Snow pen (if you have one)

Please note optionals:

• I used Copic Markers and Tombow markers to color in some of the calendar pages. This can be done at home later if you wish.
• Add Stickles where desired (can be completed later).
• We probably won't finish this in today's workshop. However you will be receiving colored pictures of each page.  

BYO lunch or stop at one of the nearby restaurants.

You are welcome to use our fridge and microwave.

Sharing Christmas with friends . . .

Each year, Nancy N & Timi take the For Keeps Sake staff to the Blue Owl restaurant in Kimmswick for our annual Christmas gathering.  We exchange gifts, eat delicious food and of course, dessert and generally have a great time. We missed Kelsey this year (she has 3 jobs (!) and needed to be at one of them).

It's our favorite time of the year.

Two Tag Tuesday January 15 . . .

This year, I'm changing things up a bit from last year's tags. Last year, we focused on techniques. This year, our focus is on various types of inks, what they are able to do and why we use them.

January 15's workshop will feature Tsukineko's Brilliance Inks. 

BYO favorite background stamp, flower stamp, craft mat, paint brushes (I use the Claudine Hellmuth set), black waterproof ink such as Ranger's Archival and something that will hold a bit of water and LET'S PLAY!

When there's nothing else you can do . . .

after hearing horrendous news, sometimes you can turn to art.  And that's just what I did today.

Using a brand new product @ For Keeps Sake, this is one of Pam Carriker's designs distributed by Stencil Girl. We just received our package of Stencil Girl goodness and I took some time to play today.

Using Heidi Swapp paper, I placed the stencil and used Claudine Hellmuth Gesso on top of the stencil.  A light touch allows the paper background to show through.

After the gesso dried, I used a Copic Multiliner and went over the entire stencil.

Using a combination of Distress Ink and Tsukineko Brilliance Inks, the image was colored in using a paint brush. NOTE: I spread ink direct from the ink pads onto a craft mat and watered it down a bit before painting the image. Both Brilliance and Distress Inks are water based.

Card Care Connection . . .

Our CYI group is doing something a bit different in January. We're partnering with Card Care Connection and creating cards for those who are battling cancer.

If you'd like to join us, the meet-up is January 9 @ 6 pm.  BYO supplies and help us make this month's meet-up a HUGE success for this worthy organization.

There are specific guidelines for us to follow:

• A2 size cards
• Envelopes unsealed
• Sentiments/themes should be Thinking of You, Have a Nice Day, Care & Concern.  Please avoid Get Well Soon and religious messages.
• Handmade professional looking
• Please do not write on the card. The inside should be blank

For those who don't work or are free January 9, you are welcome in the studio any time - or all day - to create these cards.  BYO lunch/dinner or order Chinese (next door) or pizza (down the street).
