As a past member of Graphic 45's Design Team, I was very excited to have a few of my designs featured in the Graphic 45 CHA booth. One of the items I had the privelege of working with is their new 12x12 Matchbook. This is an incredibly innovative product that combines a shadow box with a drawer that easily slides in and out of the frame.
Working with Graphic 45's Secret Garden, I created two mini books to attach to the inside and outside of the shadow box. But how to attach them without ruining the integrity of the design? Enter: magnet paint.
I first painted the outside frame and the inside shadow box with Rustoleum Magnet Primer. This stuff is amazing - and black. To my knowledge, it doesn't come in any other color. So it's a good thing I had that beautiful Secret Garden paper to cover up the primer. NOTE: It took about 4 coats of primer!
Next, I chose Secret Garden as the inside background paper. I love the image of that beautiful little girl. Add the white picket fence and I'm in!
Using May Flowers, I cut the images to create fold-out booklets - one for the inside of the frame and one for the outside. Using a magnet on these allows me to remove the booklets and still see that pretty little girls image.
Do you see the fence from Spellbinders Die D-Lites. Love the white iron!
Although the booklet on the outside frame is held on by a magnet, I wanted to make sure it held on throughout the show, so I created a slight *pouch* by cutting a smaller girls image from Springtime, backing it with chipboard and adhering only the bottom portion of the image to the frame.
To hide the magnets, I used an extra panel of Secret Garden and secured the magnets between the panels of paper. My favorite adhesive, Beacon 3-in-1 held them in perfectly.
And my own Graphic 45 key that lets me inside the Secret Garden hangs with Hug Snug seam binding, died with Distress Ink and crinkled to make it look old.
Gotta love the white picket fence from Imaginarium Designs! The butterlies were put through a Big Shot using a miscellaneous embossing folder.
Thanks for visiting my Secret Garden Graphic 45 project.
Nancy, This is very pretty!
