Life happens . . .

• We moved Beau & Lindsey into their new house. So excited for them! 
• Bill has recently been diagnosed with CLL/lymphoma. The doctors say it's a result of agent orange in Vietnam.
• Mom fell out of bed and broke her arm at her shoulder.
• And we just became Grand-puppy-parents to this adorable rescue:

 

Obviously, he already has stolen Beau's heart.

I'll be back posting as soon as everything settles down a bit.

Today . . .

everyone is Irish!

 

 

A Work In Progress . . .

Lazying around the house today, playing with paper and paint.  I have this idea for a book cover and have this picture in my head of what it should look like. It's not happening yet so I'm still dabbling in Splash of Color paints, inchies, betwinchies and stamps . . . 

I think I could sit and play all day. It reminds me of my painting days with tole painting and oils. Mix and match and create your own color palette. So much fun with the array of Splash of Color from Creative Imaginations!

But alas, this all has to be put aside for now. It's nap time ; )

 

This artful gathering . . .

was a blast last night @ For Keeps Sake. Dena and Sue guided us through the process of layering betwinchies onto a canvas using drywall compound. 

Inspiration from Dena and Sue:

Love how they both added little ephemera to some of the squares.

The process begins by covering 1.5" x 1.5" squares (betwinchies)

and laying out the pieces in a pattern that is pleasing to your eye.

Next month, we're going to explore the process of using

napkins, gauze and other materials

to create these Eve-inspired beauties:

This process can be accomplished on betwinchies (as shown above)

or

on card fronts

or

anything your heart desires.

 

Isn't it sweet that Sue added a photo of her and her husband into this composition!

Beachy and bright:

Trish brought her hand painted canvas

and

layed out the betwinchies in a unique pattern.

Each square was stamped and then painted with

Twinkling H2O's.

Love!

Needless to say, I didn't get very far with mine.

Worked out my color scheme

(and these colors shouldn't surprise anyone!)

and used leftover pattern paper that I love.

Edged each square with 

Viva's Inka Gold Metallic Rub.

So that's what we did last night @ CYI.

Most of my workshops . . .

sell out with a waiting list attached. When that happens, we try to call the waitlist as soon as possible. Every now and then, a workshop will not sell out and I get only 1 or 2 people signed up for the class.

Beginning immediately, I am requiring 4 students per workshop.

Cancelling a class is not something I enjoy doing and am usually as disappointed as you that I have to do so. I'm hoping you understand this new *rule* of mine. If/when I do have to cancel a class, it will be done 2 days prior to the class.

CKC St. Louis . . .

Being a St. Louisan, I get a little confused when CKC St. Louis comes to *town* and it's actually held in Illinois not Missouri. Never-the-less, traveling over-the-river and through-the-woods is exactly what we do to get to CKC.

This year, CKC takes place at the Convention Center in Collinsville IL on April 5 & 6.  I'll be teaching an adorable mini-book using Maggie Holmes designed papers for Crate Paper.  It's all because of For Keeps Sake and American Crafts and I'm thrilled and excited to be able to teach at CKC.
