WOYWW February 19, 2014 edition . . .

Playing along today with Stamping Ground's WOYWW. Nancy N, Timi, Judy and I visit Weston MO each year for their Christmas Open House. We're finally getting to our photos and creating a mini (?) book for our 2013 trip. This mini is actually 10.5" x 11" so not sure how mini it actually is but I suppose since it's less than 12x12 we can get by with the moniker. I'm enjoying working with this larger format as it's really getting me in the mood to create 12x12's again.

These beautiful Authentique papers are perfect for this super cold weekend spent in Weston.

We created the cover by breaking up a chipboard camera shaped album.

We bought one and divided it up between us.

The chicken wire background is from Gina's Designs.

We cut other chip to layer the *lens* of the camera

and used a Chomper to round the corners.

The antique optical lens finishes off the camera lens

and covers an Authentique cardinal sticker.

Tim Holtz Industrial Stickers finishes off the camera edges

with added TH Swivel Clasp and miscellaneous charms.

We will probably add more to the cover as we continue our

weekly creative sessions.

CYI March 2014 . . .

Planning for March CYI is complete. As we're waiting for more new product to arrive, we'll be doing something a bit different than we originally thought:

CYI March 2014-A

Love this paper from Authentique and we're using it to create a mini travel journal. So easy and so cute!

Cost is $10 and includes chipboard and all paper that you'll need to make this in one short evening.

Advance sign-ups required and there is a list of products you need to bring as follows:

  • Scissors
  • Cutter
  • Score Board
  • Strong wet adhesive such as Beacon 3-in-1
  • Dry adhesive (tape runner)
  • Brayer
  • Inks and applicators: Distress Fired Brick and Vintage Photo; Wendy Vecchi Cornflower Blue Archival; black ink for rubber stamps
  • 2 pieces of coordinating ribbon—each 1 yard in length
  • Various travel stamps
  • Optional: Tim Holtz grungepaper hinges (with brads) and numbers for year on cover

Fee for this project is only $10. You must be present at CYI to get a kit.

Create Your Imagination is the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6 pm.

Sign up no later than Tuesday, March 4 by calling

For Keeps Sake - St. Louis MO

CYI can still be free: Sit in on our evening and listen in on how we make the above project, byo show-and-tells of what you've been working on, share ideas and generally have a great evening with a fun group of talented people.

Looking for . . .

A couple of years ago QuicKutz made a large feather die (I think). Larger than the current 4x4 die, it seems to have been maybe 10" tall or so (I think).

In any case, if anyone has one and would like to sell it, I've been looking for one . . .

or any other large feather die you can recommend.

Thank you.

Woohoo . . .

CYI Jan 2014

Wendy Vecchi's Clearly For Art has arrived! We will be making the above tags at CYI February 11.

There are supplies (inks, scissors, etc)  you will need to bring.

The list is at For Keeps Sake.

Here's how it will work:

We will still have challenges for each other and bring in show-and-tell. As for the tags: you may choose to sit in and not create the tag but listen to how it's done. This will be free.

If you choose to participate in making the tag, there will be a class kit at a $5 cost (or as close to $5 as I can keep it). The kit will contain all the tags, paper, embellishments and new product to complete the project. You will still need to bring basic supplies, your own inks and things like that. A list will be provided to you upon signing up. Participation insures you get hands-on with new product or techniques you may not have tried before!

Sign up in advance for the tag kit by calling For Keeps Sake (314) 487-8131. You must sign up at least 3 days in advance of the meet-up.

February 2014 tags will be the 2 shown above. (Yep, we'll start with 2!) The tags will include a background technique plus Wendy Vecchi's Clearly For Art and Tim Holtz' Frosty Film. We'll be using lots of other things so if you sign up, please get the list from For Keeps Sake.

Disclaimer: Any cancellations must be made at least 3 days prior to the meet-up. There will be no written directions or re-teaching of these tags. If you purchase the kit and can't make it, you will still receive the kit sans any additional things used in class (like paint, etc).

Hope you can join us.

It's going to be another creative year!
