Another down - more to go . . .

This mini was put together ages ago using chipboard and Tim Holtz binder rings. The pages were built and then it sat on a shelf, neglected for quite a while . . . until this week.

Adv 1
The cover makes use of an old Heidi Swapp transparency

coupled with Tim Holtz metal and Gina's Designs chipboard circle.

Another one down. Many more to go. Back to the shelves!

Finishing up . . .

I've had this little project on the shelf for about 6 months and decided to finish the inside pages. The binding is one I learned online from Jim The Gentleman Crafter. It's actually a signature binding from the very talented Laura Denison (sort of like 6 degrees!). It attaches to the binding rings with mini paper clips.

After dragging out some papers I've had for quite a while along with various embellishments, this is the result:

Beautiful flowers . . .

So good to see everyone last night at CYI and to meet new people. Thanks to everyone who attended. It was fun to see how you scrunched and layered your flowers.

A Touch of Grace

is the blog I referred to re: the beautiful flowers Jerri creates.

Great tutorials!

Here's another one of Jerri's flowers:

Many of the brand new dies, stencils and fun products have finally landed at For Keeps Sake. We're back to tag tutorials this month and as a *welcome back to tags*, this meet-up is free! We'll be working with the new Tim Holtz flower die, various background stencils, inks and stamps to create this month's tag. If you're planning on joining us, please put your name on the list at For Keeps Sake (314) 487-8131.

Bring to CYI basic supplies + background stencil; background stamp such as music or writing; modeling paste for stencil; spongy pop-ups; craft mat. You will be working in shades of either green or pink (your choice) so please bring appropriate inks. For Keeps Sake will supply the paper, tags, bling and die cuts.

I follow this amazing blog . . .

Um Wow Studio

Love the work they do on this blog and the creative ways they use paper products. A couple of months ago, the Design Team started showing snippets of a 7 Dots Studio paper line called Nature Walk. It was love at first sight.

I ordered a packet along with some embellishments and was sent (thank you!) some additional goodies to play with.

The waterfall bracket tags are cut from super sturdy chipboard

and really easy to work with.

I first dyed the edges with Black Soot Distress Stain

then used Nature Walk 6x6 paper pad to cover each of the tags.

The flower was cut using a Spellbinders die

then glittered up a bit.

The leaves are Tim Holtz tin leaves and the butterfly

was cut from another 7 Dots paper and popped up.

Lovely Day is from Nature Walk's sticker sheet.

Wanting to hightlight the little bird on this paper

so it was colored with a Copic Marker.

Tag 2:

The pretty scrolly design was cut from one of the papers

to use as a pocket then popped up to create space.

The tags were also cut from Nature Walk.

The flowers were cut from Nature Walk

using a Memory Box die.

Tag 3:

A mini-envelope (from an old unmarked die)

and journaling card.

Tag 4:

A fold-out booklet for more photos.

Love the side mount lamp post.

The tiny bird sitting on the lamp post is from a

really old punch I had in my stash.
