This past weekend I had the privilege of teaching at two wonderful Indiana stores.
Friday night was spent with new and old friends at
Mary's Scrapden
We started with a Carte Blanche blank slate.
Added beautiful Prima papers (everyone chose their own)
and then painted
4x6 Paintables with Oil Pastels.
Each one was finished off with
Adhesive Rub-Ons and Rub-On Foil Sheets.
They all turned out beautiful and unique to each artist!
Not to be missed, are Prima's beautiful gold doilies!
Next I traveled about an hour up the state to
Doodlebug Inc
for two Prima projects:
First up, a 6x6 Memory Hardware mini-book.
Can you tell it was a very cold, windy day?
But we had fun inside this beautiful store chock-full of great goodies!
We decorated the books using a couple of cool techniques
and many chipboard shapes from
Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts
The paper is from Frank Garcia's Collection: Vintage Emporium
as were the flowers.
Mel and Hannah make everyone feel right at home
and did I mention they ship for one (very low) price?
Hannah and Mel have one little section with
really cool jewelry and purses.
Yep, bought a couple. Did you see the price on that purse? $9.99!
OK, on to altered art.
For the 2nd workshop at Doodlebug
we began with Prima's Watercolor 12x12 Panel.
A blank canvas was painted using
Oil Pastels.
Not saying this because but . . .
these are the best oil pastels I've ever used.
They mix easily with water,
are creamy,
come in a ton of colors
and one pack of 24 colors is only around $20.
I think the gals that used them this weekend would agree!
We also tried the beautiful
Artisan Powders
and the
Opal Magic Paints and found out they are definitely magic!
We painted with Art Alchemy paints
and finished off projects with detailed
Prima Trims.
Once the base canvas was painted, we layered it with
various Prima stamps and Birdy Nest stencils.
Using Art Extravagance Texture Paste - Crackle Mediums were a big hit!
Of course, we also added Adhesive Rub-Ons and Rub-On Foils.
Each canvas is beautiful and unique to the creator.
Mel and Hannah had prize giveaways in each class:
Gotta love Comfort Craft Tools!
Thank you Indiana! I had a great time visiting and teaching for
Prima Marketing.
