The good news: Here's the preview

The bad news: I'm still adding dimensional snow drifts and baubles.

(Those will be ready by class time)

This is a 10" X 9" shadowbox (including the *feet*)

and is 5" deep.

It has a hinged glass frame that covers the winter scene.

Inside, there's a sleigh complete with Christmas tree, twigs and wreath

that hides the mechanism for the twinkling Prima lumies.

• Paper Trimmer
• 3 Adhesives: Beacon 3-in-1 or Fabri-Tac and Score Tape 1" and 1/2" and Art Glitter Glue

• Black Ink pad & Applicator
• Paint Brush: #4 flat

Innie's and Outtie's . . .

Years ago I taught a class called

Innies & Outties.

It was all about creating scrapbook pages with

photos on the inside of a page protector

and

embellishments on the outside of the page protector.

It's been years since I've completed an Innie & Outtie album

until recently.

Below is a close-up of the album cover with a few pages from the album:

 

You can see the sheen of the page protector with the

decorative paper and photo mat tucked inside.

The embellishments are attached to the outside of the page protector.

This next page has the decorative paper and photo mats under the page protector

with a flip on the outside of the page protector.

If you have lots of photos, this is a good way to add real estate to your albums.

The photo below shows the page/flip opened up.

Incorporating a handmade greeting card every now and then 

gives much needed room for journaling.

Mini-Book 

 

Well, here's what you didn't see:  I couldn't close the book!

As usual, I couldn't close the mini-book properly.

Here are some of the inside pages. They're really simple so not sure what happened.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The solution:  Cut off the right side piece that is supposed to fold over the cover.

Glue the piece to the cover and pretend tie the closure.

Done!

Scraplings . . .

My newest obsession is Scraplings. The first time I saw these I was perusing some paper artists out of Eastern Europe and they were talking about Scraplings. 

Scraplings is a card or tag that measures 1.5" x 4.5" and is made up of mostly leftover scrapbook papers and ephemera. Most of the scraplings I saw were cards. And gorgeous!

If you're on Pinterest, you can search for Scraplings (or Skraplings). Your search will ignite all sorts of ideas including beautiful, whimsical, hand painted, detailed and amazing creations.

Micro-Bead Mash-Up . . .

I love using Prima Marketing Micro-Beads.

They are available in an array of gorgeous colors.

I mix Micro-Bead colors to create my own mash-up:

My go-to colors are bronze, copper and silver.

Using an empty prescription bottle, I mix my own color combination:

about 1/3 of each color.

Put the child-proof (insert smiley face) lid on the prescription bottle,

shake up and you have your own beautiful combination of
