There's a new book kit in town courtesy of Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. Just in time for Christmas, it's a star book. Star books have been around for a while but this kit comes complete with pre-cut, pre-scored book pages, covers and side pockets. So easy to put together!
Why is it called a Star Book? When completely opened it creates this:
You can see how I put my star book together here: Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Star Book
This is how I decorated the inside pages:
Using the beautiful Graphic 45 Winter Wonderland, I first wallpapered each page. Then used the Star Book kit corner pockets as well as the pockets and inserts from Graphic 45's collection.
The page above uses Flourished Frame Karen from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. It looks a bit Victorian to me so I decided to first stain it white and then used Prima's Antique Brilliance Lucky Emerald wax on top of the stain. It gave it a green-ish patina look. And now it's ready for a beautiful Christmas photo.
Remember this stitched piece from a few days ago? I decided to surround it with Flourished Frame Marigold from the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts collection. Wanting to continue the gold and red colors from the deer to the frame, I painted the frame with Prima's Red Rust Effect Paste. It has a bit of tooth to it. Once dried, I used Prima's Metallique Wax Vintage Gold wax on top of the Rust Effect.
I cut a piece of chipboard the same size as the circle frame. Using Beacon Fabri-Tac, I added a bit of batting to the center of the circle before adding the stitched image. The frame was adhered to the top of the image (again using Fabri-Tac).
