2017 Mini-Book Review . . .
Learning new tricks . . .

WOYWW Last Post of 2017 . . .

Playing along today with the last 2017 What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday over at Stamping Ground.

Getting back into counted cross stitching and combining with my mini-books. My cross stitching needs lots of practice. But like scrapbooking, it will show my progression from worse to better (hopefully). If you've been scrapbooking for as long as I have, you know exactly what I mean!

My first scrapbooks (when Baby Boy was little) are something to behold . . . and not in a good way! My taste has changed. The way I scrapbook has changed. I've learned tons of techniques etc along the way. But I wouldn't re-do those old scrapbook pages for anything. It shows progression of my work (hopefully).

Each page in this book is inter-active with pockets, flips and fold outs.

There's a big mix of paper in this one with a little K&Co, Prima Marketing, Bo Bunny and more.

The butterfly on the cover is from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. You can find them here: GSL Cuts Butterflies

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

See you next year with more projects, mini-books, scrapbook pages and more!

Happy new year everyone!

Wow, that latest book of yours is amazing. I know what you mean about improving and changing styles. I look back on some of my early cards and cringe! It has been fun learning and applying new techniques and ideas though. Happy New Year. Sarah #14

what a great idea to cross stitch a book! I haven't done any for years either. Happy WOYWW Helen #1

Gorgeous book cover - the cross stitch really lends a homespun feel to it! I know exactly what you mean by the evolution of style. When I first started to scrapbook I was so unsure of myself - all my pages were so boring and flat, but they do have a naive charm about them. My scrapbooking hasn't actually evolved much because I diverted towards mixed-media, but I'd love to combine the two one day! Thanks for showing us your lovely album - happy 2018! zsuzsa #19

Hi Nancy, your album is beautiful. I love the cross stitching. I've only made one scrapbook album, and I have not been overly adventurous. I'm hoping I improve as I go along. I haven't done any cross stitch for years, but I still have a birth chart for my grandson on the go .... he turned 5 in October, and I have two more grandchildren now, so I really need to make a move on it. Have a wonderful new year, and best wishes for 2018, Heather #17

Thanks for sharing your lovely designs for your book. So pretty. Will have to follow you on Pinterest, some precious things there. Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year. Stay warm

That is gorgeous! I love how you have married the three dimensional flowers with your cross stitching - what a lovely cover that gives.
Happy New Year

Lovely album! The cross stitch gives such nice texture to go with the flowers. I have an album of all the Christmas cards I've done over the last 12 years, and yes, the early ones are quite different that what I do today. Some are downright scary! LOL!
I hope you have a Wonderful New Year!
