Mini Album Makers with Eileen Hull . . .

Today is the 1st of the month and

no foolin'

we're playing with Eileen Hull dies today.

 

Here's how I began my project with

Eileen Hull's Wrap Journal Die.

Kraft-Tex is my go-to for this journal.

It's heavy paper but it acts and feels like leather.

After running the Kraft-Tex thru the die, I added color with

Distress Ink: Vintage Photo & Ground Espresso

as I wanted it to look like leather.

The four holes in the Kraft-Tex/die represent the

signatures that will be added to the journal.

I created 4 pamphlets, each with 3 pages (for now) and

each measuring 5" tall x 7" wide.

Then folded each one in half to produce a 5" tall x 3.5" wide page.

I'm using one-sided scrap paper but will add something to the back of each page in a minute.

I cut pieces of thin parchment paper and added those to the back

of the scrapbook paper.

Then, using wax linen thread, attached each signature to the

Kraft-Tex cover.

Normally, I would tie the wax linen thread in the center of each signature.

But knowing that I would want to add charms,

I decided to tie on the outside of the cover.

Wax linen thread is very sturdy so will hold onto charms without breaking.

I left long threads to make it easy to place the charms.

Now for the decorating!

THE COVER:

First I added some resin soaked tissue paper to the front cover.

Then added Seth Apter powders to the left edges.

I love how chunky these are!

Then added this piece from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

You might recognize it from an earlier blog post.

Tying charms & buttons onto the spine was easy!

Then I used a bunch of collectibles for the inside pages.

Although this is still a work in progress, here are some of the finished pages:

The image is from my friend Karen Higgins/Karen's Vintage Graphics.

I'm still learning to be random ~ less stuffy ~ about my pages.

Freer (if that's a word).

with magnets on both sides so it can cuddle the pages

and keep them closed.

This is definitely a work in progress but easily put together with the help of 

Eileen Hull's Wrap Journal die.
