I'll be teaching and scrappin' at the
Road Trippin' Crop in Lebanon MO

Here are my two Button Farm Club workshops:
A super-interactive folio from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.
I'm using 49 & Market papers and ephemera to decorate each page & flip.
This Halloween folio can be used to store 12+ photos of one of our favorite holidays.
Using a folio from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts,
and decorated by me with Graphic 45 Charmed paper,
this workshop is easy to create and so much fun!
Hope to see you in Lebanon.

This past weekend I had the privilege of teaching at two wonderful Indiana stores.
Friday night was spent with new and old friends at
We started with a Carte Blanche blank slate.
Added beautiful Prima papers (everyone chose their own)
and then painted
4x6 Paintables with Oil Pastels.
Each one was finished off with
Adhesive Rub-Ons and Rub-On Foil Sheets.
They all turned out beautiful and unique to each artist!
Not to be missed, are Prima's beautiful gold doilies!
Next I traveled about an hour up the state to
for two Prima projects:
First up, a 6x6 Memory Hardware mini-book.
Can you tell it was a very cold, windy day?
But we had fun inside this beautiful store chock-full of great goodies!
We decorated the books using a couple of cool techniques
and many chipboard shapes from
The paper is from Frank Garcia's Collection: Vintage Emporium
as were the flowers.
Mel and Hannah make everyone feel right at home
and did I mention they ship for one (very low) price?
Hannah and Mel have one little section with
really cool jewelry and purses.
Yep, bought a couple. Did you see the price on that purse? $9.99!
OK, on to altered art.
For the 2nd workshop at Doodlebug
we began with Prima's Watercolor 12x12 Panel.
A blank canvas was painted using
Not saying this because but . . .
these are the best oil pastels I've ever used.
They mix easily with water,
are creamy,
come in a ton of colors
and one pack of 24 colors is only around $20.
I think the gals that used them this weekend would agree!
We also tried the beautiful
and the
Opal Magic Paints and found out they are definitely magic!
We painted with Art Alchemy paints
and finished off projects with detailed
Once the base canvas was painted, we layered it with
various Prima stamps and Birdy Nest stencils.
Using Art Extravagance Texture Paste - Crackle Mediums were a big hit!
Of course, we also added Adhesive Rub-Ons and Rub-On Foils.
Each canvas is beautiful and unique to the creator.
Mel and Hannah had prize giveaways in each class:
Gotta love Comfort Craft Tools!
Thank you Indiana! I had a great time visiting and teaching for
Prima Marketing.

I used to fancy myself a bit of a gypsy.
With over 30 years experience in the travel industry
I can't get enough of travel mini-books.
Here I used 7 Gypsies: Gypsy Moments and Wanderlust 8x8 paper pads
There are things to do with paper that are a must for me:
{1} Ink all raw edges
{2} Add pockets whenever possible
{3} Layer with chipboard and Crafty Foam Tape - even stickers!
{4} Use black Crafty Foam Tape or black chipboard or ink the edges of the chipboard with black.
Why? It creates less of a glaring lift than white would create.
{5} Fussy cut where you can to create layers and tags
{6} Odd numbers are more pleasing to the eye than even numbers
{7} Use magnets to create flip pages
{8} Create interest with double pockets
{9} If the packaging is pretty, save it and use it for backgrounds.
{10} Drag colors from one side of the page to another.
The right side paper already had a blue toned design
so I added a blue toned tag to the pocket on the left page.
It helps to draw the eye from one page to another.
Thanks for browsing my travel book.

January found a new class idea: Graphic 45 tags each month of the year.
February workshops featured Graphic 45 book-in-a-box.
March travel workshop with another Graphic 45 book-in-a-box.
Every now and then I make a mini-book for myself.
This one was a really fun April project:
May: One of Laura Denison's brilliant patterns with Prima papers.
Getting ready for travel plans with a June workshop and 7 Gypsies travel papers.
A July workshop teaching a 2 page 12x12 layout at Checkered Cottage in Kirkwood MO
August plans for workshops at Checkered Cottage, Kirkwood MO
and
a group of great gals in Memphis TN
featuring Graphic 45's A Christmas Story.
A group of us began a 4 part series in September
with one of my all-time favorite collections:
Graphic 45's Botanicabella
There's something about October's colors that pull me in every Fall.
November's project features 7 Gypsies Christmas collection
and
Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Houses in a Box
created especially for my workshop.
Thanks Gina!
(PS: Not teaching this class until January so don't panic please.
And for those of you who didn't get into this class, I will be teaching
another one featuring birds and nests in the Spring.)
December upcoming Junque Journal workshop with 7 Gypsies Ordre du Jour
Thank you to all who attend my workshops.
Very grateful you enjoy my classes and keep coming back for more.
I appreciate each and every one of you.

Timi and I just got back from the Paper Arts show in Schaumberg IL. Although the show was quite small, we managed to order lots of product for upcoming workshops.
To you, the photo above may look like a bunch of stuff that needs to be put away. To me, each little pile represents a workshop I'm planning for future dates.
Here's my teaching schedule for the next few months:
And as co-owner of For Keeps Sake Events, we have several amazing events this year:
Hope to see you soon!
